What started in 1964 as a tiny pizzeria next to the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City has grown into an international organization with over 300 locations and 5 restaurant concepts offering an array of flavors and tastes pleasing to most every consumer.

Villa Pizza, our flagship concept, was the vision of our founder Michele Scotto. When Michele came to America, from his homeland of Naples, Italy, he dreamed of opening a pizzeria where he could continue to practice the craft he had learned back home working in the restaurants and cruise ships in and around Naples.

He set out to realize his dream by adhering to the time honored cooking processes and authentic recipes of old world Italy. This coupled with genuine hospitality and a strict devotion to preparing products every day with the freshest possible ingredients would become the driving force behind Villa’s future success.

Throughout the remainder of the 1960s’ and into the 1970’s the organization would continue to grow, slowly laying the foundation for the Villa Pizza we now know. The standards Michele was so passionate about adhering to were working with great success and his dream was coming to fruition.

Michele’s sons, Biagio and Anthony Scotto, would join the company in the1990’s initiating another growth phase and increasing the size of the company to 100 locations.

Villa’s controlled growth pattern over those years yielded some very important outcomes. The first of which was their ability to ensure a consistently superior product due to their vast knowledge of restaurant operations and their “Made Fresh Daily” approach. The second, was the financial discipline they were able to exercise allowing them the freedom to expand via acquisitions and organic growth. The third …….

The Acquisition:
In 2003 Villa was again looking to expand and this time they wanted to ensure their future by diversifying their portfolio of brands, and subsequently their customer base.

They set their sites on a company that had been in operation since 1976 under the name “Everything Yogurt Brands.” EYB had prided itself on being the original “Better for You Food” with restaurant concepts that featured a host of menu items utilizing fresh fruits and vegetables that appealed to people of all ages.

Recognizing the validity of this vision Villa Enterprises Management went ahead and purchased Everything Yogurt Brands.

Among the EYB concepts were “Bananas” a concept that featured frosty fruit shakes made with fresh fruit and blended ice. “GreenLeafs Grille” a health conscious grilled chicken and salad concept. “South Philly Steaks and Fries” a cheese steak and fresh cut fries concept.

In 2004 Villa underwent the task of consolidating the various EYB concepts and re-branding them from storefront to identity. That process generated the 5 core brands Villa has today.
